For Egyptian founders

Form a US LLC from Egypt and hold your revenue in dollars.

Stripe does not support businesses incorporated in Egypt, and Kashier states plainly that it serves businesses located in Egypt only. A Wyoming LLC with an EIN opens the dollar rails — and unlike much of the region, Egyptian founders still have good US banking options.

Why Egyptian founders need a US LLC

The challenges of building globally from Egypt.

Stripe does not support Egyptian businesses

Egypt appears nowhere on Stripe's availability page — not as a supported market, not in preview, and not in the Paystack extended network that covers Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana. For a founder selling software or digital products internationally, that removes the default billing infrastructure entirely.

Local gateways are built for collecting inside Egypt

Kashier accepts EGP, USD, EUR and GBP and handles recurring payments, but its own FAQ states it supports businesses located in Egypt only — so it cannot serve a US company. Paymob settles weekly into your Egyptian bank account. Accepting a dollar-denominated card is not the same as being paid in dollars.

Global clients expect to pay a US entity

US procurement teams, marketplaces and affiliate programmes are built around paying a US company with an EIN and a W-9. For Egyptian agencies and developers billing American clients, that friction shows up at exactly the point the client is ready to pay.

Currency exposure sits between invoice and withdrawal

Egypt floated the pound in 2024 and conditions have since stabilised considerably, with the parallel market closed and reserves at record levels. Even so, revenue that converts into pounds on arrival is exposed to a currency your customers never agreed to price in.

The solution

What a US LLC gives Egyptian founders.

1

Stripe becomes available on standard terms

Stripe supports US businesses holding an EIN through ordinary self-serve signup. A Wyoming LLC with an EIN is the standard route Egyptian founders use to reach it — a real US company you own, formed without leaving Egypt.

2

US banking is genuinely open to Egyptian founders

This is worth saying because it is not true everywhere: Egypt does not appear on Mercury's prohibited-countries list, nor on its card restriction lists. Wise opens accounts to Egyptian residents, and Payoneer supports Egypt with USD among its settlement currencies. Founders in several neighbouring markets have materially fewer options.

3

Egypt does not restrict investing abroad

The US State Department's investment climate reporting states Egypt does not restrict domestic investors from investing abroad, with outward investment running above USD 10bn in a recent fiscal year. The ownership question that blocks founders in some countries does not arise here in the same way.

Egypt has one of the largest developer and creative-services populations in the Middle East and North Africa, selling heavily into the Gulf, Europe and the United States. The pattern founders describe is consistent: the work is dollar-denominated and the clients are abroad, but the payment infrastructure available to an Egyptian company is designed around collecting from Egyptian customers. A US LLC changes where the revenue lands first.

Can an Egyptian resident own a US LLC?

Yes. No US state restricts LLC ownership by nationality or residence, and Egypt does not restrict residents from investing abroad. What we could not verify is whether any Central Bank of Egypt reporting or declaration duty attaches to holding a foreign company, and sources conflict on whether a per-individual annual transfer threshold still applies after the 2024 reforms. Rather than publish a figure we cannot stand behind, we will say: ask an Egyptian tax adviser about your reporting position.

Which US banks accept Egyptian founders?

Better than most of the region, as of July 2026. Egypt is absent from Mercury's prohibited-countries list and from its card-issuance and card-mailing restriction lists. Wise opens accounts to Egyptian residents, and Payoneer supports Egypt with USD settlement. We could not confirm Relay's position — its country list was unreachable — so treat that one as unknown rather than assuming either way. Provider policies change without notice.

Will a US LLC give me a Stripe account?

A Wyoming LLC with an EIN meets Stripe's requirement for a US business entity, which is what makes an account possible. Stripe underwrites every account on its own terms and can decline, so the LLC removes the structural blocker rather than guaranteeing approval.

Is there a US–Egypt tax treaty?

Egypt does appear among countries with a United States income tax treaty. What that means for your particular income depends on facts we cannot see from here, and a treaty existing is not the same as it helping in your situation. This is a question for a cross-border tax professional — RazorFile files companies and does not give tax advice.

How long does formation take?

Wyoming typically processes LLC filings in one to three business days after submission. The EIN follows by fax or mail, since the IRS online application is not available to applicants whose principal place of business is outside the US.

Do I need to understand US legal paperwork?

No. RazorFile keeps the process plain-language and organised so you know what is needed, what is paid, and what happens next at every stage of your order.

What is a Registered Agent and do I need one?

A Registered Agent is required for every US LLC, regardless of where you live. They receive official government and legal correspondence on your company's behalf at a physical address in your formation state. RazorFile provides this service.
