Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Effective: June 25, 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, company name, formation state, entity type, business description, and country of residence. We also collect payment information through Stripe — we do not store your card number; Stripe handles all card data. We automatically collect usage data including pages visited, browser type, and IP address for security and performance purposes.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to: (a) prepare and submit your LLC formation documents; (b) communicate order status, document delivery, and service updates; (c) provide customer support; (d) process payments through Stripe; (e) improve our service; (f) comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Information sharing

We share your information only as necessary to provide our service: (a) with your chosen state's Secretary of State office to file your formation documents; (b) with our Registered Agent service provider to fulfill your Registered Agent requirement; (c) with Stripe to process your payment; (d) with other service providers who assist in delivering our service, bound by confidentiality obligations; (e) when required by law, court order, or government authority.

4. Payment data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. RazorFile does not store, process, or transmit your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data. Your Stripe customer ID may be stored in our records to link payments to your account.

5. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for 7 years thereafter, to comply with legal and tax record-keeping requirements. Formation documents are retained indefinitely for your access. You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements); object to processing; export your data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, contact hello@razorfile.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. GDPR (European residents)

If you are in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing your data is: (a) performance of a contract — we need your data to provide the formation services you purchased; (b) legitimate interests — for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement; (c) legal obligation — where required by law. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies for security and session management. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We may use analytics tools to understand how our service is used — only aggregate, anonymized data is used for this purpose.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and secure data storage. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data using commercially reasonable practices.

10. Children

RazorFile is not intended for use by persons under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact hello@razorfile.com and we will delete it.
