Stripe does not support businesses incorporated in Turkey, and Decree No. 32 restricts how residents can contract in foreign currency at home. A Wyoming LLC with an EIN puts your revenue on a dollar rail outside the lira.

Why Turkish founders need a US LLC
Turkey does not appear among the countries where Stripe supports businesses — there is no preview or invite tier for it either. For a Turkish SaaS founder that rules out Stripe Billing, Checkout and Connect entirely, which is usually the reason founders start looking at a US entity in the first place.
iyzico and PayTR handle Turkish card acceptance well and settle to a Turkish IBAN, and iyzico markets multi-currency acceptance. What they are not is a global subscription stack — worldwide card coverage, usage-based billing, marketplace payouts and tax handling are where the gap shows up, and a Turkish merchant account remains a Turkish regulatory entity.
Turkey has no outright ban on buying foreign currency, but Decree No. 32 on the Protection of the Value of Turkish Currency generally prevents contracts between Turkish residents being denominated or indexed in foreign currency. It was amended again in March 2025, raising the cross-border cash-lira threshold and routing residents' foreign derivatives activity through licensed intermediaries.
If your customers are global but your revenue lands in lira, inflation and depreciation sit between you and your margin. Founders selling internationally increasingly want the money to stay in dollars until they choose to convert it.
The solution
Stripe supports US businesses holding an EIN. Forming a Wyoming LLC and obtaining an EIN is the standard route Turkish founders use to reach Stripe and dollar-denominated checkout — a real US company you own, not a workaround.
Turkey is one of the countries with an income tax treaty in force with the United States. That does not make your US tax position simple, but it does mean there is a treaty framework to work within — worth raising with a cross-border tax adviser rather than guessing.
Wyoming charges $100 to file Articles of Organization and $60 annually for the report (or $0.0002 per dollar of Wyoming-based assets, whichever is greater). No Wyoming state income tax. For a founder with no Wyoming assets that is $60 a year in state cost.
Turkey has a deep software and digital-services talent pool selling into Europe and the United States, and the constraint founders describe is rarely product quality — it is that the payment stack their customers expect is unavailable to a Turkish entity, while the currency their revenue lands in loses value between invoice and withdrawal. A US LLC addresses both by moving where the revenue first arrives.

FAQ
Specific answers for founders forming a US LLC from Turkey.
View full pricing →Yes. No US state restricts LLC ownership by citizenship or residency, and Turkish law does not prohibit residents from owning foreign companies. Turkish tax residents are taxed on worldwide income, and foreign dividend income is taxable above an annual threshold with a partial exemption available in some circumstances — the details are specific enough that you should get Turkish tax advice before structuring.
A Wyoming LLC with an EIN meets Stripe's requirement for a US business entity, which is what makes an account possible. Stripe underwrites every account individually and can decline or review a business on its own terms, so the LLC removes the structural blocker rather than guaranteeing approval.
Wise stopped offering its full service to Turkish residents on 31 May 2023, citing local regulation. Payoneer remains available in Turkey. Provider country policies change without much warning, so check each provider's own page before you rely on this — including ours, which we date rather than present as permanent.
No. Decree No. 32 governs foreign-currency contracting and currency movement involving Turkish residents; it does not prohibit owning a company abroad. It is relevant to how you contract and move money, not to whether the LLC can exist. It has been amended repeatedly — most recently in March 2025 — so treat any summary of it, including this one, as a starting point for advice rather than a current legal position.
Wyoming typically processes LLC filings in one to three business days after submission. The EIN application follows once the state approves your company.
No. RazorFile keeps the process plain-language and organised so you know what is needed, what is paid, and what happens next at every stage of your order.
A Registered Agent is required for every US LLC, regardless of where you live. They receive official government and legal correspondence on your company's behalf at a physical address in your formation state. RazorFile provides this service.
