Unlike some markets, Turkish founders are not short of competent payment processing. iyzico and PayTR work. Decree No. 32 shapes how you contract at home
Turkey's Decree No. 32 generally prevents contracts between Turkish residents being denominated or indexed in foreign currency, and was amended again in March 2025. It does not stop you owning a company abroad; it shapes domestic contracting. It has been amended in 2018, 2022 and 2025, so treat any summary as a starting point.
Turkey's banking position is comparatively strong
Turkey is absent from Mercury's prohibited list, which is better than most markets where Stripe is unavailable. The caveat is Wise, which ceased full service to Turkish residents on 31 May 2023 — a change many guides still have not caught.
Worth knowing before you buy
If your customers are Turkish, iyzico is likely the better answer. The case for a US LLC is international revenue and a need for Stripe's billing infrastructure, plus keeping revenue out of a currency that has moved sharply against the dollar.
