The stale page several vendors are citing
A Stripe legal page exists at stripe.com/legal/ssa/ph stating that entities located in the Philippines are eligible to apply. It is dated 12 June 2017 and names a Stripe entity that no longer handles this. Vendors selling US LLC formation cite it as evidence of invite-only availability. It is a stale artifact, and Stripe's live country page contradicts it.
PayMongo accepts dollars but pays pesos
PayMongo's own documentation states it accepts Visa and Mastercard payments denominated in US dollars, then automatically converts the amount to PHP at the current exchange rate — and that USD acceptance requires contacting their team for access. So you can price in dollars, but the money arrives as pesos with a conversion taken out.
The regulatory position here is unusually good
Unlike several markets we cover, the BSP explicitly supports residents' outward investment, and residents may invest offshore without prior approval when funding from their own foreign-currency sources. The barrier for Filipino founders is infrastructural, not legal — which makes the US LLC route a cleaner fit than it is in countries with capital controls.
Worth knowing before you buy
If a formation service told you Stripe Philippines is available on request, treat that as a signal about the vendor rather than about Stripe. Check stripe.com/global yourself before paying anyone — it takes thirty seconds and it is the single most consequential fact in this decision.

A vendor told me Stripe PH is invite-only. Are they lying?
Probably repeating something stale rather than lying deliberately. There is a real Stripe legal page from 2017 saying Philippine entities may apply, and it still resolves. But Stripe's current country page does not list the Philippines in any category. When a vendor's claim and Stripe's own live page disagree, believe Stripe.
Can I use PayMongo instead?
For Philippine customers, yes — it is BSP-licensed and works well. For international subscription billing in dollars, it converts to pesos on the way in and requires approval for USD acceptance at all. Whether that is acceptable depends on whether your customers are local.
Does a US LLC guarantee Stripe approval?
